CALL TO ORDER(4:30 P.M.)
Mayor Harpootlian called the meeting to order at 4:38 p.m.
A. Roll Call
Present: Councilmember Corrigan, Councilmember Radford, Councilmember
Spreen, Vice Mayor Waldeck,Mayor Harpootlian
Absent: None .
Staff: City Manager Carl Cahill, Planning Director Suzanne Avila, City
Engineer/Public Works Director Richard Chiu,Administrative Services
Director Pak Lin, City Clerk Deborah Padovan

I. STUDY SESSION
A. Study Session on the 2016 Community Survey Results: Further Discussion and
Interpretation with Policy Direction to Staff as Needed
City Manager Carl Cahill introduced Bryan Godbe, Godbe Research, Inc. -
Councilmember Radford asked about the objective of the meeting.
City Manager Cahill responded that the meeting was called at the direction of the
City Council to review therelevant crosstabs and determine if there was cause for
further action.
Council discussion ensued as to the purpose of the meeting.
Mr. Godbe summarized the survey and focused on reviewing a number of the
crosstabs.
Council asked questions of Mr. Godbe and received his responses.

Councilmember .Radford stated that at the current time, we are not planning on,
moving forward with any community center, but we have an action item around
emergency preparedness and the structural safety of the Heritage House.
Peter Evans, Los Altos Hills,said that people really do value Parks and Recreation.
programs.
Scott Vanderlip, Los Altos Hills, said if we build a community center, people will
come. A community center goes beyond Parks and Recreation, it helps with
emergency operations and house to hold historical items.
The City Council inquiredabout undergrounding and Comcast. City Manager
Cahill said that the topic would be discussed during the budget review.
There was Council consensus to exploreadditional police coverage which will be
discussed as part of the •budget process; explore upgrading the emergency
operations center; send a customer satisfaction survey to individuals who are.
currently in the building process and to those who have completed the process in
the past 18 months. City Manager Cahill will return to the Council with
suggestions for preparing for a survey for building permits.

The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
