Dear Chair Couperus, members of the Planning Commission and members of the Planning
Department:
I support the recommendation of the Planning Department to DENY the CDPs and variance
requests submitted by Mr. Forrest Linebarger for Lot 1 and Lot 3 on Mora Drive, Los Altos Hills.
The two lots are substandard (each less than 0.4 acre), the variance requests for side setbacks of
10 ft and 15 ft grossly violate the LAH side setback requirements of 30 ft. Granting these variance
requests would severely impact the semi-rural character of our neighborhood by creating a high-
density development. Approving these CDPs and variance requests will set a dangerous
precedent for similar high-density developments elsewhere in Town on properties with underlying
lot lines. We have half a dozen properties with underlying lot lines on Mora Drive alone and many
more throughout the Town.
Los Altos Hills residents care very much about the semi-rural character of our Town and its
preservation. It is for this reason that 202 neighbors have signed the neighborhood petition
opposing the proposed high-density development(see attached map). Original signatures of the
202 petition supporters are on file with Ms. Avila.
I urge the Planning Commission and the City Council to deny the two CDP applications on Mora
Drive.
