Subject: Please vote against the roadside and off-road paths proposed for the annexed areas
Date: Monday,October 24,2016 4:23:47 PM
Dear Planning Commission,
As a resident of W Loyola Drive annexation area, I oppose the Pathways Committee
proposed path routes through my neighborhood.
Pathways in the LAH neighborhoods are meant primarily to be used and enjoyed by those
living in that same neighborhood. 100% of the owners of the properties in the W Loyola
Drive area requested only on-road (over paved road) pathways.
The Trail People report estimated that the cost of building a roadside W Loyola Drive
path would be $1.5M. This means the estimated average cost to the 18 properties on
the side of the road designated for a pathway would average $90K per pathway
segment.
Additionally, an off-road pathway (overland paths running across and through multiple
properties) is being proposed between W Loyola & Eastbrook even though part of it is
through an ingress easement and part is on unincorporated properties..Even Terry
Way off Mora, which is not a part of Los Altos Hills, is shown as having an off road
path connecting it to undeveloped property in the Cinnabar Hills canyon.
If the Pathways Committee plan is adopted as is, these roadside and off-road paths
become etched in stone and totally non-responsive to the neighborhood's wishes.
Please honor the request for only on-road parts from our neighborhood by rejecting
the plan for roadside and off-road pathways.
