Dear Ms.Avila and Planning Commission Chairperson Tankha,
100%of the private property owners in the West Loyola Annexation Area recommend that pathways on our four
roads be proposed as the Los Altos Hills pathway type ON-ROAD,OVER THE PAVED ROAD.
The proposed Master Path Plan Map to be considered at tonight's Planning Commission Public Hearing shows the
following for the West Loyola Annexed Area neighborhood:
1)two of our four roads,Berkshire Drive and Eloise Circle,with purple lines indicating,per the map's legend,
PROPOSED ADDITION TO MASTER PATH PLAN(OVER PAVED ROAD);
2)one of our four roads,West Loyola Drive,with a red line indicating,per the map's legend,PROPOSED
ADDITION TO MASTER PATH PLAN(OFF ROAD AND ROADSIDE);
3)one of our four roads,Chardonnay Lane free and clear of any line;and
4)a red line indicating an off road path commencing at 10842 West Loyola Drive and ending at the Los Altos Hills
boundary line of 10858 West Loyola Drive
Over the past four plus years,we have steadfastly recommended,in person and in writing,that our four roads be
accorded the Los Altos pathway type of ON-ROAD,OVER PAVED ROAD.Additionally,since our four roads
interconnect with each other six times,and further freely connect four times with adjacent roads,there is no need for
any"OFF ROAD Path Connectors"in our neighborhood.
Quite consistently and with 100%participation,we have done so ever since the first Planning Commission Public
Hearing four years ago on October 16,2012,followed by the City Council Public Hearing on November 15,2012,
then again many times during informal meetings and walks with Pathways Committee people,at the Pathways
Committee Public Hearing on April 25,2016,and most recently at.the Joint City Council and Planning Commission
meeting on May 23,2012.At no time during the past four plus years,has our recommendation been given any
weight or credence during Pathways deliberations.We sincerely hope that pattern will change tonight.
Tonight at the Planning Commission Public Hearing,we will once again make our recommendation that the
proposed pathways routes through our West Loyola Annexation Area be of the Los Altos Hills pathway type ON-
ROAD,OVER THE PAVED ROAD.We will respectfully request that the single red line off-road path beginning at
10842 be removed from the proposed map,and thatthered line running the length of West Loyola Drive be
changed to a purple line.
We believe our pathways recommendation fits within all of the pertinent Los Altos Hills General Plan documents,
most specifically the Pathways Element,and the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code sections which enforce the town's
current pathways policies.We emphasize here that through our recommendation,we are not requesting any sort of
exclusion or carve out from the town's current pathways policies.
Attached here is a map of the West Loyola Annexation Area showing in a visual manner,our ON ROAD,OVER
THE PAVED ROAD recommendation of 100%of the private property owners in the neighborhood.
