Subject: Trail People Path Plan for LAH annexed areas
Date: Wednesday,October 26,2016 2:47:46 PM
Dear Members of the LAH Planning Commission,
I am a resident in the newly annexed area of Mora Drive and I would like to oppose
the proposed south side pathway of Mora Drive from Trail People Landscape
Architects and Planners. Their plan would seriously alter the country roadway of
Mora Drive. It is important to keep the rural character of the community and not to
introduce the LAH pathway standard.
The current walkway one the north side of Mora Drive developed by the County
should remain as the walkway for pedestrians. The visibility for pedestrians is better
on the north side, and the uphill traffic is slower which makes the north side safer for
pedestrians. Also, the Mora path on the other side of Eastbrook, in front of the*
Waldorf School and the overpass of 280, is on the north side, and is consistent with
the walkway developed by the County. The north side of lower Mora Drive has
greater space for pedestrians than the south side, and our neighbor, Hal Feeney, has
suggested, in his letter to you, a solution for the guardrail above Terry Way to
increase space on the north side.
Please repair and correct the current asphalt walkway on the shoulder of the north
side of Mora Drive. This is the best for our community and is the most cost effective.
Sincerely,
Lorraine Baxter
