A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS
AWARDING THE CORPORATION YARD LOCKER ROOM PHASE 1 PROJECT TO
ARGOS CONSTRUCTION, THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE AND RESPONSIVE BIDDER, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $175,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT; AND APPROVING PROJECT CONTINGENCY FUNDS OF
$35,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO APPROVE
POTENTIAL CONTRACT CHANGE ORDERS WITHIN THE SAID FUNDS
WHEREAS, as adopted in the Operating and Capital Budgets for FY2024-2025 and FY2025-2026, the
Corporation Yard Locker Room Project would add adequate locker room space with accessible
shower/restroom facilities for the maintenance staff; and
WHEREAS, the scope for Phase 1 of the project includes a unisex restroom/locker room on the ground
floor and HVAC upgrade to the building, which can be completed within the current project budget of
$340,000; and
WHEREAS, due to high costs and lack of budget to build a locker room for all Town maintenance staff
on the second floor, Phase 2 design and construction work is deferred until Phase 1 scope is completed;
and
WHEREAS, the Notice to Bidders for the Corporation Yard Locker Room Phase 1 Project was
published twice on the Los Altos Town Crier between April 23 to May 7, 2025, and posted on the Town
website; and
WHEREAS, the Town received two (2) bids for the project on May 22, 2025; and
WHEREAS, staff recommend that a construction contract for Corporation Yard Locker Room Phase 1
Project be awarded to Argos Construction, the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount
of $175,000 with construction cost contingency funds of $35,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills that;
The Corporation Yard Locker Room Phase 1 Project is awarded to Argos Construction, the
lowest responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $175,000, and the City Manager is
hereby authorized to execute the construction contract; and
2. The project contingency funds of $35,000 is approved, and the Public Works Director is
authorized to approve potential contract change orders within the said funds.
The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los
Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on 26th day of June 2025 by the following vote:
