RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH ROGER'S ELECTRIC TO UPGRADE THE SECURITY CAMERAS AT TOWN HALL
AND ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF CAMERA HARDWARE
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Altos Hills seeks to ensure the safety and security of its public facilities,
staff, and visitors through modernized technology and infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the existing security camera systems at Town Hall, the Corporation Yard, and Westwind
Community Barn are outdated, provide inadequate coverage, and fail to meet current state and federal
security requirements; and
WHEREAS, the 2024-25 City Council Work Plan identifies enhancement of community safety,
modernization of Town infrastructure, and improvement of Town facility security systems as key
strategic priorities; and
WHEREAS, staff evaluated multiple vendors and systems, including Verkada, Avigilon, and UniFi,
and received proposals from Safe and Sound Security, Qovo Solutions, and Roger's Electric; and
WHEREAS, following review and recommendation by the Technology Committee, UniFi was
identified as the preferred system due to its scalability, compliance with security standards, and cost-
effectiveness; and
WHEREAS, Roger's Electric submitted a competitive quote utilizing the UniFi platform,
providing the most cost-effective and technically sound solution for the Town Hall installation; and
WHEREAS, Technology Committee member George Lee has generously donated UniFi security
cameras and related equipment to support the modernization of the Town's facility security systems;
and
WHEREAS, the Town has reviewed the donation in accordance with the Town's Gifts and Donations
Policy and finds that: the donation is consistent with Town goals and policies, the donation provides a
public benefit and reduces project costs, the donation imposes no undue future financial or operational
burden on the Town, the donation contains no conditions contrary to Town policy, local law, or federal
requirements, and acceptance of the donation is in the best interest of the community; and
WHEREAS, the total project cost for the Town Hall security camera upgrade is estimated not to
exceed $12,000, funded through the FY 2025-26 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) under Facility
Security Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Town acknowledges and expresses appreciation to Technology Committee member
George Lee for his contributions to this project, including assistance in obtaining favorable

pricingandthe-donation of camera equipment, which- significantly reduced project costs; and - -
WHEREAS, designating Roger's Electric as the preferred vendor for future Town facility security
camera projects will ensure system consistency, streamlined maintenance, and long-term cost
efficiency; and
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council formally accepts the donation of UniFi security cameras and
related equipment from Technology Committee member George Lee, in accordance with the Town's
Gifts and Donations Policy. The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Roger's

Electric, in an amount not to exceed $12,000, for the installation and configuration of the upgraded
security camera system at Town Hall.
The City Council expresses its appreciation for the generous donation and directs staff to issue the
required written acknowledgment and maintain all associated documentation pursuant to Town policy.
The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los
Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of December 2025, by the following vote:
