A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS
RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE 2026 SANITARY
SEWER REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO CASEY CONSTRUCTION, INC.,
THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE AND RESPONSIVE BIDDER, FOR AN AMOUNT OF
$41093659 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT; AND APPROVING PROJECT CONTINGENCY FUNDS OF
$829073 AND AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO APPROVE
POTENTIAL CONTRACT CHANGE ORDERS WITHIN THE SAID FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Adopted Operating and Capital Budgets for FY26 and FY27 include appropriations
Of $900,000 and $1,150,000, respectively, from the Sewer Fund for annual sanitary sewer repair and
rehabilitation projects; and
WHEREAS, on April 16, 2026, the City Council approved the Plans and specifications for the 2026
Sanitary Sewer Repair and Replacement Project and authorized staff to advertise the project for formal
bid; and
WHEREAS, Notice to Bidders was advertised for the project on April 22 and April 29, 2026, and five
(5) bids were received and publicly opened on May 11, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Utility Engineering Manager of the Town of Los Altos Hills did, in open session, duly
examine and consider all bids submitted to it for the construction of the 2026 Sanitary Sewer Repair and
Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the construction contract for the said project be awarded to the
lowest responsible bidder, Casey Construction, for $410,365; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that funds of $82,073 be made available for construction contingency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills that:
1. The construction contract for the 2026 Sanitary Sewer Repair and Replacement Project is
awarded to Casey Construction, Inc., the lowest responsive bidder, and the City Manager
is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract for an amount of $410,365 on behalf
of the Town of Los Altos Hills; and
2. Project contingency fund of $82,073 is approved for the project, and the Public Works
Director is authorized to approve potential contract change orders within the said funds.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los
Altos Hills at a regular meeting held on the 14th day of May 2026 by the following vote:
