HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 44-26RESOLUTION 44-26 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE MAGDALENA ROAD PATHWAY PROJECT TO PACIFIC UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION, INC., THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE AND RESPONSIVE BIDDER, FOR AN AMOUNT OF $260,730; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT; AND APPROVING PROJECT CONTINGENCY FUNDS OF $50,000; AND .AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO APPROVE POTENTIAL CONTRACT CHANGE ORDERS WITHIN THE SAID FUNDS WHEREAS, the Magdalena Road segment, as identified in the Master Path Plan, is a key part of the Town's broader effort to develop interconnected pathway loops that enhance mobility and safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and equestrians; and WHEREAS, the proposed roadside pathway on Magdalena Road is part of the Magdalena-Ravensbury loop prioritized in 2025 by the Pathways Committee for installation; and WHEREAS, Magdalena Road Pathway Project proposes approximately 1,300 linear feet of new roadside pathway along Magdalena Road, extending from Camino Hermoso Drive to 10631 Magdalena Road; and WHEREAS, Notice to Bidders was advertised for the project on May 20 and May 27, 2026, and ten (10) bids were received and publicly opened on June 9, 2026; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the Town of Los Altos Hills did, in open session, duly examine and consider all bids submitted to it for the construction of the Magdalena Road Pathway Project; and WHEREAS, staff recommend that the construction contract for the said project be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, Pacific Underground Construction, Inc., for $260,730; and WHEREAS, staff recommend that funds of $50,000 be made available for construction contingency. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills that: .qectian 1 The construction contract for the Magdalena Road Pathway Project is awarded to Pacific Underground Construction, the lowest responsive bidder, and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract for an amount of $50,000 on behalf of the Town of Los Altos Hills; and. gecti o -n 7 Project contingency fund of $50,000 is approved for the project, and the Public Works Director is authorized to approve potential contract change orders within the said funds.
