A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS
AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR CITY ATTORNEY
LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Altos Hills is a California general law municipality, and the City Attorney
is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Town has historically contracted with outside law firms to provide City Attorney and
municipal legal services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires a competitive solicitation to evaluate qualified California
municipal law firms based on experience, proposed staffing, responsiveness, availability, cost, and
overall value to the Town; and
WHEREAS, Town staff has prepared a Request for Proposals for City Attorney Legal Services,
substantially in the form presented on August 20, 2026, with advertisement proposed from August 21
through September 25, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the proposed process provides time for proposal evaluation, finalist interviews, reference
and background checks, and anticipated City Council consideration of a City Attorney appointment and
Legal Services Agreement on November 19, 2026.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills hereby:
1. Approves and authorizes issuance and advertisement of the Request for Proposals for City Attorney
Legal Services, substantially in the form presented on August 20, 2026; and authorizes the City
Manager to administer the solicitation and make minor, non -substantive revisions as necessary. Final
appointment of the City Attorney and approval of any Legal Services Agreement shall return to the
City Council.
The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the City Council of the Town of Los
Altos Hills at a City Council meeting held on 20th day of August 2026 by the following vote:
AYES: BHATEJA, TYSON, MOK, SWAN

ABSENT: TANKHA
