Subject: Comments on the General Plan Update
The last major plan update was in 1975. There are now very few small older homes left to
replace or remodel and very few acres left upon which to build. To the extent any new
requirements single out only those who are "building," they will be unfair and
unproductive.
New requirements in the update need to be town wide. You cannot let the greater
majority keep their fences, scotch broom etc. and expect to enhance wildlife corridors
and encourage native plants for instance. The bulk of any changes in the General Plan
need to be applied to the whole town not just those few planning to remodel from 3,000
feet to 4000 square feet.
