TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS
RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION
HONORING
DR. BRIAN MURPHY
WHEREAS, Dr. Brian Murphy is honored by the City Council of the Town of
Los Altos Hills upon his Inauguration as the third president of De Anza College in
Cupertino, California; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Murphy's contributions as a senior administrator at San
Francisco State University for more than fifteen years have been regarded as invaluable;
and
WHEREAS, Dr. Murphy has been a college and university professor of political
science and political theory; and
WHEREAS,Dr. Murphy has served for more than four years as the chief
consultant to the state legislature's review of the Master Plan for Higher Education; and
WHEREAS,Dr. Murphy has worked for three decades in the service of
California higher education;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the Town
of Los Altos Hills takes great pleasure in commending Dr. Brian Murphy for his many
outstanding contributions to higher education and extend a wish for continued success in
all of his future endeavors as President of De Anza College.
REGULARLY PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of October 2004.
