HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 3.2 Supplementale Los Altos Hills, CA 94022 March 28, 2009 Dear Los Altos Hills Planning Commission, Pursuant to the public hearing for 25631 Vinedo Lane ILgL11 we are homeowners/property owners who live adjacent to the lot in development. We have reviewed the proposed development plans and met with the developers. Unfortunately we cannot be there in person on April 2 to personally present our findings. Thus, we are providing the following list of our concerns: Access to Vinedo Lane via Second Driveway The current plan shows two driveways. However, during the subdivision process, there was a plan for only one driveway access to this lot and traffic study was performed assuming only one driveway. In addition, the placement of the upper driveway is in close proximity to the house across the street as well as to our driveway creating a potential bottleneck at the fork of the road. Since Vinedo lane is a private road, the Vinedo Lane Road association should have the opportunity to review the plans and have approval rights to the placement of the driveways accessing the road for the safety of all pedestrians, and drivers . Upper Garage Parking Visibiliri Due to the positioning of the house so close to Vinedo Lane and to our property, car parking on the driveway for the upper garage area will be highly visible from Vinedo Lane and our property. Currently, no other house on Vinedo Lane has the house built so close to the road. A simple solution is to increase the setback of the house to Vinedo Lane and have one driveway access from a three -car or four -car garage (at the lower end) onto Vinedo Lane. offensive Purple Surface Water Pipe A large purple plastic surface water pipe was installed right next to our fence line that is highly offensive and visible from almost the entire length of our driveway. Although the developer claims it is temporary, the pipe may stay until all house construction is completed which may take at least two years or more. We have contacted the City engineer (Richard Chiu) on this matter multiple times and in one email, he wants the developers to cover the pipe. However, no action has been taken for the past six months. Another option is to redirect the pipe away from the fence by at least 30 feet so that it is hidden in front of the existing vegetation. (The pipe is loosely held down bimetal prongs and it seems that it could be moved easily.) Thank you for your consideration and feel free to contact us directly at if you have any questions. Sincerely, '- " RECIM Steven Wang Lisa Wang MAR 212009 TOWN OF LOS AuosHILLS T
