HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 3.3 Supplemental Los Altos Hills, CA 94022 March 28, 2009 Dear Los Altos Hills Planning Commission, Pursuant to the public hearing for 25611 Vinedo Lane jLgI31 we are homeowners /property owners who live across the lot in development. We have reviewed the proposed development plans and met with the developers. Unfortunately we cannot be therein person on April 2 to personally present our findings. Thus, we are providing the following list of our concerns: 1. Preservation of Mature Cedar and Pine Trees During the subdivision process, the planning commission recommended two mature cedar s and one mature Pine tree(#61, 62, 63 in August 19, 2007 Arborist report) be preserved and advised development of the site around these trees. These mature trees serve as an anchor view to the neighborhood and provide screening to the houses being built. The current proposal calls for all three trees to be eliminated. Can the site be shifted to the north to preserve these trees? In our meeting with the developers last week, only two trees (#62, 63) need to be eliminated with the current plan and the third (#61) can be preserved. Thus, at the minimum, we should preserve the mature Pine tree (#61). 2. Proper Tree Screening With the current proposal, the house is directly visible from the south end of our house. If the house cannot be placed further north away from our visibility, tree screening is a necessity before development. At least six (6) 24" box size or larger fast-growing attractive trees should be planted for screening purposes right away. Thank you for your consideration and feel free to contact us directly at if you have any questions. Sincerely, Steven Wang Lisa Wang
