Statement by Gary and Nobuko Cleary in Opposition of Roelands Proposed Variance
As neighbors whose house abuts the property at issue, we would like to communicate our
strong opposition to the proposed variance for the Roelands property. Allowing the
destruction of two large, historically designated California Oaks in exchange for the
construction of a detached outdoor garage deeply concerns us. to addition to their
protected status, these oak trees serve to maintain the privacy between our homesteads,
and in our case of our pool and guest house bedroom. Respect for this type of natural
beauty in our landscaping is what distinguishes our town.
We respectfully suggest that the garage be constructed on the other side of the main
house where there is ample authorized space; and please spare the oak trees!
We are currently out of town on business related matters, or most certainly we would be
in attendance tonight strongly voicing our concerns.
