September 4n, 1958
The meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Los Altos Hills
was called to order by Chairman Omar N. Spain Saturday, September 4%,
1958 at 7:38 P. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 West Fremont Avenue, Los
Altos Hills.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Dawson, Hayes, Holm, Mellquist,
Jilliams, Chairman Spain
ABSENT: Commissioners Case, Tantau
MINUTES: August 23rd. 1958.
ACTION:
Adopt minutes of August 23rd, 1958 as submitted.
CORRESPONDENCE:
1. McCandless & Jett - Copy of letter to the City Council, dated
August 290, relative road improvements in subdivisions, with
reference to the Monahan subdivision and Pink Horse Ranch.
Filed.
2. Nestor Barrett - Statement for 14a.75 was received and was approved
or payment.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. General Plan - Chairman Spain announced that a letter had been re-
ceived rom Planning Consdltant Nestor Barrett regarding the Gen-
eral Plan, ane stated that a reply had been drafted, and requested
the Commissioner's comments.
Discussion was deferred to New Business.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Variances:
Packard David(V-36-56) - Request for reduction of tan (10) foot
sine setbec or construction of a bath house.
Commissioner Holm, Map Committee Chairman, recommended approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
#Awl That the variance of David Packard (V-36-58) for ten (10) foot
reduction of side setback for construction of bath house be
approved.

MOTION: Holm: SE^,ND: Williams; VOTE: Passed unanimously
2. Subdivisions:
Camino Dell Homes (120-58) 9 lots. Angr. MacKay & Somps.
Mr. Ward Crump, developer, and Mr. Donald MacKay, Lngineer, were
present.
Commissioner Mellquist mentioned the fact that the tentative map
does not fulfill requirements relative to roads and access.
It was noted that a copy of the tentative map had been sent to
the State Highway Commission requesting information and comments
regarding the location of the proposed freeway in relation to the
Camino Dell Homes subdivision.
The question was asked Mr. Crump whether he wished action to be taker
on the map before hearing from the State Highway Commission or
whether he would prefer to wait for word relative to the location
of the freeway. It was pointed out that the map would have to be
revised before approval could be gained.
Mr. Crump stated that he preferred to wait for an answer from the
State Highway Commission.
That action on the tentative map of Camino Dell Homes (120-58)
9 lots be deferred to the next meeting of Planning Commission,

ep�r r , 1 5 at the Town Hall with Dir. James Meyer, and
announced that another meeting will be held which the Planning
Consultant, Nestor Barrett, would attend. The date has not been
set.
4. General Plan - Letter of reply to Nestor Barrett, relative to the
energy for the Town of Los Altos Hills, was discussed and
revised.
MEETING ADJOURNED: 9:45 P. M. to a Personnel Meeting.
NEXT REGULAR FETING: Saturday, September 20th, 1958 at 8:30 A. M. at
the Town Hall, 26379 '.dest ^remont .ivenue, Los
Altos Hills.
