MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
October 182, 1958
The meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Los Altos Hills
was called to order by Chairman Oscar B. Holm Saturday, October 18m,
1958 at 8:40 A. 11. at the Town Hall, 26379 West Fremont Avenue, Los
Altos Hills.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Dawson.(arrived at 8:45 A. M.)
Case, Hayes, Spain, Chairman Holm
ABSENT: Commissioners M,ellquist, Tantau, 'Jilliams
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: October 2nd, 1958.
ACTION:
Adopt minutes of October 2nd, 1958 as submitted.
COMMUNICATIONS:
1. Count of Santa Clara En ineerin De artment- Letter, dated October
and signed y osep oweany, uenior Civil Engineer, was
regarding the Dr. Beaver and the Aida Mandoli subdivisions relative
to certain conditions required on Arastrad.ero Road in the design
of these subdivisions.
Copies of the letter will b9 included in the Dr. Beaver and the
Aida Mandoli files.
It was the consensus of the Commission that the conditions stated
in the letter should be summarized and established as a matter of
policy in dealing with future subdivisions abutting County roads.
2. Tri -Count Plannin Council - Notice of P'eeting to be held on
ay,
ctober 23rd, 1 58 at 8:00 S'. T?, in the Court House, Red-
wood City.

3. Pacific Gas andectric Com^an - Letter, dated October 13th, 1958
and signed by &. :1 ton, .anager, Central District, was regarding
street lighting. A pamphlet entitled 'Modern Street Lighting for
Your Community' was enclosed.
Filed.
OLD BUSINESS: None.

1. Baron, Mitchell (122-58) 3 lots.ngr. L. G. Brian.
( Letter from the City Engineer was received stating that the map,
40 showing two (2) substandard lots (area) will not be approved by
him unless approval is given by the City Council.

It was pointed out that the gross acreage of the subdivision is
3:00 acres, and that due to dedication of right-of-way, two of the
lots are substandard in dimension.
RECOMME.IDATION:
That the tentative map of Mitchell Baron (122-58) 3 lots be ap-
proved, subject to approval of all agencies, compliance with
all existing ordinances relative to drainage facilities and
road improvements, and noting that all three lots are substand-
ard in dimension, but under the hardship clause of the Subdivi-
sion Ordinance this may be permitted..

VOTE: AYES: Case, Hayes, Spain, Chairman Holm

2. Willis, Richard (124-58) 3 lots.--5ngr. L. G. Brian.
Commissioner Dawson stated that one of the conditions of approval
of the Fremont Hills Unit ;fl tract was that the drainage facilities
not be included as part of the acreage of any of the lots..
RECOMYKIDATION:
That the tentative map of Richard '/illis (124-58) 3 lots, resub-
division of lots irl and ;2, Block A of Fremont Hills Unit A, be
approved subject to approval of all agencies- that the dedication
be increased from thirty (30) feet to fifty 60) feet up to the
center line of 'lest Fremont Avenue, and the compliance with all
existing ordinances relative to drainage facilities and road
improvements.

3. Benson, Walter A. (125-58).. Request for waiver of provisions of
�3nance TjS--.ng�ones, Thenn & Associates.
Mr. Benson explained that he had purchased a parcel of land that
he wished approved as a building site.
A question was raised regarding a portion adjoining the site which
is less than an acre. Mr. Benson explained that he did not wish
that portion included in the parcel for which he is requesting ap-
proval, and stated that it will be included in his property (which
adjoins both parcels).

4. Duveneck, Frank B. (125-58) 2 lots. Engr. Nolte.
RECOMM3':'TDATION:
That the tentative map of Frank B. Duveneck (125-58) 2 lots.
be approved subject to the approval of all agencies and. com-
pliance with all existing ordinances relative to road improve-
ments and drainage facilities.
MOTION' Dawson; SECOND: Spain; VOTE: Passed unanimously
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Chairman of Map Committee - Commissioner Case was appointed Chair-
man. Other members of the Committee are Commissioners Spain, Hayes
and Williams.
