The meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Los Altos Hills
was called to order by Chairman Oscar B. holm Thursday, December 4,
1958 at 7:45 F. M. at the Town :Sall, 26379 West Fremont Avenue, Los
Altos Hills.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Dawson, Case, Hayes, Kendall,
T;ellquist, Tantau, Spain, dilliams, Chairman
Holm
ABSENT:

ACTION:
Adopt minutes of November 15, 1958 as corrected.
1. Mayor Joha M. Fowle - Letter of 'December 2, 1958 was regarding
ordinance amen menta.
The pros and cons of requiring that developers provide traffic
safety markings were reiewed. 'Discussion of street marking center-
ed around possible limitations such as off -paved surface, off main
arteries, and no street parking on basis that the Planning Commis-
sion"would automatically require adequate on-site parking when ap-
proving site plans for public installations.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Council be advised of the Commission's conclusions:
On Item A of the Mayor's letter --Desirable addition. On
Item B -- Suggest that rather than a blanket denial of street
parking, the following be considered:
1. Prohibition be determined according to hazard and street
efficiency.
2. All land divisions be required to supply adequate off-
street parking as determined by the Flanning ommission.

RECOMMENDATION:
That the Town Clerk meet with the Tlanning Commission at its
next regular meeting with copies of his letter of June.119,
1959 and a suggested check list.
MOTION: Williams; 3EC'ND: Spain; VOTE Passed unanimously
3. Cit Attorne - Letter of November 10, 1958 was regarding Zoning
Ordinance meeting.
After some discussion, it was concluded that, after return of the
Ordinance to the Planning Commission, the following steps will be
taken.
1. A meeting will be called of the Committee as a ilhole (date
December 16m, 7:30 F. M., subject to receipt of Ordinance by
each member of the Planning Commission beforehand). The Pur+
pose will be for discussion and review of contents by Commis-
sioners, Councilmen, and Town Attorney.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Baron, Mitchell (122-58) 3 lots. Zngr. Brian.
RECOIgT NDATION:
That the map be returned to the applicant with the suggestion
that a new map be drawn showing two instead of three lots, or
that the map be returned as is but in accordance with variance
procedure.
MOTION: Mellquist; SECOND: Dawson; VOTE: Passed unanimously
NEW BUlINESS:
1. Town Road Standards
Discussion involved road widths, guttering, and feasibility of
varying curb design employed, depending on grade.
RECOMMT"ITION:
Each Commissioner review a copy of the proposed standards and
submit comments to the Town Engineer. These will be inte-
grated into a revised Standard.
MOTION: Dawson; SECOVD: Spain; VOTE: Passed unanimously
MEETING 'DJOURNED: 10:00 P. M.
