Variance Commission to order at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers of Town
Hall, 26379 Fremont Road:
A. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner Brawn, Acting Chairwoman Schick
Absent: Commissioner Phillips
Staff: City Engineer Alex Russell, Building Inspector/Planner
Ken Pastrof, Deputy Clerk Norma Hislop, Planning Secretary
Kate Tenney
B. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: 'larch 26, 1975
There being no corrections, .Acting Chairwoman Schick declared the
minutes of March 26, 1975 approved as submitted.
C. REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCE:
1. LANDS OF CESANO, APN #182-29-047, on Central fIrive, Paul Nowack,
Engineer, BSA-6032-75
City Engineer Alex Russell explained to the Commission that Lands
of Cesano would not be ready for consideration for several weeks.
The Commission voted unanimously to continue the Building Site
Approval request for Lands of Cesano to the Meeting of May 14,
1975.
D. BUILDING SITE APPROVAL:
1. LANDS OF CHU, Lot 8, Tract 2842, Jay Hammond, Engineer, BSA-
6033-75
Building Inspector/Planner Ken Pastrof presented the Staff report.
Discussion ensued on the possible presence of a fault trace on
Mr. Chu's property, as referred to in Staff report. 11r. Pastrof
explained that there was no surface evidence on the Chu property
indicating an active fault.
11r. Chu requested an exemption from a Geological survey because of
` the history of the general location (i.e. Saladino report), the
age of the fault (3 million years since any last known activity),
and his willingness to take a calculated risk on any future activity
of such a fault.
4 PERMIT AND VARIANCE COMMISSION - April 4, 1975
Commissioner Brown moved, seconded by Acting Chairwoman Schick,
that the Building Site Approval request for the Lands of Chu
be approved subject to all the conditions proposed in the Staff
memo, except the parts of Condition 1(a) and 1(b), calling for
a geology report. Motion was carried by the following roll call
vote:
AYES: Commissioner Brown, Acting Chairwoman Schick
NOES: None
ABSENT: Commissioner Phillips
2. LANDS OF DAVIS, Sandis and Associates, Engineer, DSA -6034-75
Building Inspector/Planner Ken Pastrof presented the Staff report
and requested that on page 1, condition 1(b) of the Staff memo,
concerning review of soils report, the words "and/or Town Geologist"
be deleted, as he felt the City Engineer was capable of reviewing
soils reports.
As the applicant was not prosent, motion was made by .-: inr- r—ir-

There being no further business the Commission adjourned to the next regular
meeting scheduled for April 23, 1975
