MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
April 16, 1960
The Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Los
Altos Hills was called to order by Vice -Chairman Proctor Mellquist
Saturday, April 16, 1960 at 8:43 A. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 West
Fremont Avenue, Los Altos Hills.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Hibner, Prentice, Stevens, Viee-
Chairman.Mellquist, Commissioner William ar. 8:55
ABSENT: Chairman Dawson
MINUTES: April 7. 1960.
ACTION:
Adopt Minutes of April 7, 1960 as submitted.
MOTION: Stevens; SECOND: Hibner; VOTE: Passed unanimously
COMMUNICATIONS:

inary�earing on proposed land division.
Deferred to New Dusiness.
2. Cit ofFalo Alto - Notice of Public Hearing to be held on the

OLD BUSINESS:
1. Cooper. Andrew J. (V-57-60) - Request for Approval of Amateur

Letter from Plr. 11. Gordon Eustice, Attorney for Mr. Cooper, dated
April 8, 1960, was read.
Members of the Map Committee reported that they had made an on
site inspection of the tower, and that they felt that presence of
the tower is not damaging to Mr. Tinjing's property.
Vice -Chairman Mellquist stated that the City Attorney's opinion
was that the Town has no recourse under its present Ordinances,
and that he recommended that Mr. Cooper be asked to apply for a
building permit.
Following questions and discussion of the construction of the
tower, Mx. Cooper agreed to reduce the height of the tower, and
he and Mr. Tinling agreed to resolve the matter between themselves.

1. Zoning Ordinance - Amendments.
ACTION:
That the rlanning Committee consult with the City Attorney and
the Planning Consultant, relative to amending the Zoning Ordi-
nance concerning structures such as radio towers, television
antennae, and other controversial matters.
MOTION: 'Jilliams; SECOND: Prentice; VOTE: Passed unanimously
Members of the Planning Committee are: Commissioners Mellquist,
Chairman, '•lilliams, and Hibner.

Relative to the proposed division of land on Josefa_"venue into
two building sites, the following points were noted:
1. The division of land has no access from a public road.
2. The lot designated as 'arcel "A" is substandard in dimensions.
3. Under provisions of Ord. '35, Sect. VI, Subsect. 6:50 (A) 2,
Parcel "A" would be substandard.
The suggestion was made that the owners of lots within the vicinity
of Josefa Ave, consider combining the parcels and redividing the
land.
4. Lea e of 'women Voters - Meeting to be Held Tuesday, April 19,
at the a o .$Community Center.
Representation from Los Altos Hills was discussed.
5. Linear P.ccelerator - Proposed location on Stanford Lands.
The possibility of the Town of Los Altos Hills and neighboring
cities sending a representative to 'Jashington to protest loca-
tion in this area was discussed.
