The Regular Meeting of the Manning Cormission of the TownofLos :.Itos
Hills was called to order Thursday, T'ay 5, 1960 at 7:30 F. M. by
Chairman Richard S. '^awson at the Town .call, 26379 W- Fremont -.venue,
Los .ltos Hills.
ROLL C' -LL: PRESENT: Commissioners Hibner, Stevens, Mellquist,
Prentice arrived at 7:50 F. M., Commissioner
Williams arrived at 7:35 F. M., Chairman Dawson

MOTICN: Hibner; SECOND: Stevens; VOTE: Passed unanimously
COMMUNIC-TIONS:
1. County of Santa Clara rlanninm Commission and Board of Zoning '.d-
iustment - Summary of actions of the Regular 'Testing of '_pril 20m.
2. Preston C. Burchard - Letter, dated _-pril 25, 1960, and results of
a questionnaire for Freeway residents.
The Chairman read the 2uestionnaire :::nd the results.
Mr. Burchard was present, and answered questions asked him by Com-
nissioncrs.
The Chairman extended the thanks and gratitude of the entire Com-
mission and asked that this questionnaire become a part of the
Records.
3. Mrs. T.I. L. Vinkenstaedt - Letter, dated :_pril 19, 1960, relative
a variance recon _y denied by the Planning Commission.
The Chairman dictated a letter in reply to Mrs. Finkenstaedt.

NEW BUSINESS:
1. Fremont Hills Unit No. 6 (160-60,) 36 Lots. Engr. L. G. Brian.
Mr. Lim. D. Coldiran and P%r. L. Hines representod the Fremont
Development Co.
Commissioner Hibner reported for the Man Committee, stating that
the Committee had looked at the propIorty, and also had agreed that
the Map should be returned the :Subdivider's Engineer for clarifi-

cation of the following points:
1. Show a more complete drainage plan.
2. Show a. complete individual lot grading plan.
3. D1_rirish topography lines.
4. _.ocor.tuate the lot lines.
5. Snow traffic circulation plan relative to Street "1" and the
Freeway.
6. It was noted that some of the easements exceed the maximum
length. These should meet the requirements of the Ordinance.
.:CTION:
That the tentative map of Fronont Hills Unit 6 (160-60) 36 lots
be referred back to the Map Committee.
MOTION; Mellquist; SECOND: Prentice; VOTE: Passed unanimously
2. Stardust Heights (159-60) 6 lots. Engr. Charles Coburn.
Commissioner Prentice reported for the Map Committee, reading the
Check List.
Mr. C. Carmichael, developer, and Mr. Coburn were present.
Mr. Julian Rowe, an adjacent oimer, was present and stated that he
would like to see the one -acre minirun lot restriction maintained.
It was pointed out that Lots Nos. 3 and 4 were substandard in area
and the suggestion was made that a common easement be used instead
of two easements and the lots absorb the land saved to increase
the area of both lots.
RECOP'NWD:.TION :
That the tentative nap of Stardust Heights (159-60) 6 lots be
approved subject to the conditions of the Check List, all
agency approvals, -^nd subject to the adjustment of Lots Nos.
3 and 4 to a net acre, by the creation of a joint 28' easement,
and a notation to the Council that Lots Nos. 1 and 6 are sub-
standard.
MOTION: Mellquist; SECOND: Hibner; VOTE: Passed unanimously
3. Working :.Benda for the Planning Committee.
Commissioner Mellquist, Chairran of the Planning Committee, con-
mented on the necessity of having an agenda.
He suggested that the following natters be considered in the near
future:
X. :mendnent to the Zoning Ordinance relative to nature and height
of structures.
2. Precising the General Plan and Plan Lines in the Town.
3. Tree Planning in subdivisions.

scaping, etc.

The Planning Commission, as a Committee of the Whole, will meet
Wednesday, May 11, 1960 at 8:00 P. M. at the Town Hall to discuss
plans for setting up the Committee,

I. Palo .,lto City Council Meeting Monday, May 9, 1960 at which the
Annexation of Stanford Lands (Ampex site) will be considered.
MEETING SOJOURNED: 9:03 P. M.
