e Regular Meeting of the Flannin-; Commission of the Town of Los
<.�tos Hills was called to order by Chairman Don T. Hibner Thursday,
August 4, 1960 at 7:40 F. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 "It. Fremont Ave.,
Los Altos Hills.

Adopt Minutes of July 7.6, 1960 with the corrections.

_ Ch.airman Hibner announced that the resignation of Mrs. Edith M.
'Ji'_liams from the Planning Commission was accepted by the City
Council on August 1, 1960.
Chairman will write a letter of arpreciation to Mrs. 'dilliams.
2. Commissioner Gordon E. Bowler was welcomed to the Commission.
_0 BUSINESS:
Kertz Realty - Following discussion of the proposed change in the
He road and the preparation of building sites, the question of
imposing a time limit upon the subdivider for completion of grad-
ing sites was discussed. The City-..ttorney will be asked for an
opinion.
Mr. Kert ngineer will be contacted relative completion of work,
`, Commissioner Prentice arrived.
COPTUTTEE REPORTS:
1. Commissioner Mellouist retorted that Mr. Rex C� Gardiner, Chair-
Com, Reports cont'd.

the Flanning Commission about mid-September to set up an initial
Agenda.

ments .for Construction of Residence.
Request was made for reduction of 15' on Alejandro for Lot 1,
Block E, Fremont Hills, Tract No. 1848.
The Map Committee recommended approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the request of `Jm. M. Young (V-60-60) for 15' reduct-
ion of setback requirement on Alejandro be granted.
MOTION: Prentice; SECOND: Alter: VOTE: Passed. unanimously
2. Singer, !halter (V-61-60) - Reouest for Reduction of Setback Re-
quirement to 20' for Construction of Residence on Lot No. 3,
Tract No, 2309•
The request was made in order to minimize grading of site located
on Rhus Ridge Road.
Map Committee Chairman reported that the Committee had not made
and inspection and suggested that the Committee study the plans.
RECONTIENDATION:
That the request of 'Talter Singer (V-61-60) for reduction of
setback requirement to 20' be deferred to the Map Committee
for further examination, to be reported on at the next meeting
MOTION: Alter; SECOND: Bowler; VOTE: Passed unanimously

Horvitz, Wayne (V-62-60) - Request to Construct Stable.
Map Committee Chairman stated that the Map Committee recommended
apTroval of the construction of the stable, and suggested that the
the Council be asked to redefine stables and barns and to clarify
both alike as permitted accessory structures.

Committee Chairman reported that an inspection had been made,
it was the opinion that with some re -surfacing and drainage struct-
ures, the road (Duval Rd.) could be broug'at up to Standard.
Following discussion, it was consensus of the Commission that this
could only be approved as a 4 -lot subdivision. It was pointed
out that 10' dedication for Josefa Ave. would be necessary.
RECOMMEND:TION:
That the map of `,Tm. Trainer, 5 lots be sent back to the en-
gineer, with the sug3estion that a 4 -lot subdivision be
considered showing a 10' dedication on Jos?fa .ve., whioh 19.11
be necessary, and that consideration be given to granting

2. Farrand, Rev.Donald - 2 lot. ,ngr. Charles L. Coburn.
The PIap Committee Chairman reported that tho Committee 'id not
feel that this division could bo approved with a substandard lot.
In answer to Rev. Farrand.'s ouestion rciativ:; to obtaining a per-
mit for the substandard site if the parcel is divided, it was
pointed out that a permit could be obtained.
Following discussion, the suggestion was made that perhaps Rev.
Farrand anal Mr. iTm. Trainer could effect a land trade. (They are
adjoining properties).
7, Beaver, 11m. Reoucst for a '.'i.riance to Construct a 'iter Tank.
Tn reviewing the plans shown by Mr. A. C. Prentice, Jr., it was
the opinion of the Commission that there are no problems.
