The Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Los
Altos Hills was called to order by Chairman Don T. HibnerFSaturday,
August 20, 1960 at 8:42 M. at the Town Hall, 26379 +
Los
Altos Hills.
ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Commissioners Alter, Bowler, Prentice, Stevens,
Chairman Hibner
ABSENT: Commissioner Mellquist
MINUTES: August 41 1960.
Corrections: Page 3, Item 3 (Farrand) Para. 2, line 2:
Insert the word 'not' between the words 'is'
and 'divided'.
ACTION:
Adopt Minutes of :,ugust 4, 1960 „s corrected.
AIMOUN03MENTS :
1. The Chairman announced that Mr. Melvin Hawley has been appointed
to the Planning Commission, by the Mayor, to complete the unex-
pired term of Mrs. Edith M. Williams.
2. The Chairman announced that he had received a copy of a letter
to Mrs. Williams, from the Mayor, expressing gratitude for her
work with the Planning Commission.

OLD BUSINESS:

The Chairman stated that Mr. Kertz will appear at the Map Commit-
tee Meeting to be hold .'.ugust 29m to discuss the proposed change.
VARIANCES:
1. Syinger. Walter (V-61-60)- Request for Reduction of Setback Re-
quirenenT o-Reeidence.
The Map Committee recommended approval.

4 The suggestion waa :c.': that an opinion from the City Engineer
\r and the City `ttorney be requested relative to moving the road
right of way (Rhus Ridge Road) to include a strip of land, which
is a part of the lot adjacent to the County rd which is u* usa�ble
as it stands.
RECOMMENDiTION:
That the request of .altar singer (V-61-60) for reduction
of setback requirements to 20' be approved.
MOTION: Stevens; SECOND: Prentice; VOTE: Passed unanimousl
DIVISIONS OF LAND:
1. Fremont Hills Development Co.—(163-60) 2 lots. Engr. L. G. Brian.
Letter from Mr. George T. Hayes, Pres„ of Fremont Hills Country
Club, dated august 12, 1960, citing specific conditions of ap-
prove' of the 2 -lot subdivision, was read by the Chairman.
Attention was called to Item ,!G of General Notes on the Map which
stated "No trees to be planted".
RECOWENDi.TION:
That the Tentative Map, No. C-']18 of Fremont Hills (163-60)
2 lots be approved subject to the approval of all agencies
and the elimination of Item #6 of General Yotes on the Map.
MOTION: Prentice; SECOND: Bowler; VOTE: Passed unimously
