TOO MINUTE:. 7F A I.,-0dUZIR ME'L'TING November 3, 1960 The Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission of the Town of Los Altos Hills was called to order by Chairman Don T. Hibner Thursday, November 3, 1960 at 7:45 P. M. at the Town Hall, 26379 W Fremont, Los :altos Hills. ROLL Ci:LL: PRESENT: Commissioners Alter, Hawley, Prentice, Chairman Hibner ABSENT: Commissioners Bowler, Mellquist, Stevens MIA?UTES: October 15, 1960. ACTION: :ldopt Minutes of October 15, 1960 as submitted. MOTION: Alter; SECOND: Hawley; VOTE: Passed unanimously COIT-NICATIONS: 1. Herbert Kertz - Letter requesting extension of time for clearing property of debris, in preparation for building sites. Deferred to New Business. OLD BUSINESS: 1. tenor. Dr. Wallace (167-60) 2 lots. Engr. J. Riley. --he Chairman reviewed the minutes of Oct. 6, 1960, and stated t:.at an on site inspection had been made. 'he Chairman of the Clap Committee offered the following recom- mendation: RECOMMENDATION: That the Tentative Map of Dr. Wallace Stegner (167-60) 2 lots be approved subject to the following conditions: 1. That turnouts be built on the narrow access road, lead- ing to the subdivision, satisfactory to the Fire Chief. 2. That a water line be constructed to the newly created subdivision, said line to be to the satisfaction of the Los Lltos County Fire Protection District. 3. That no further subdivision of the Stegner property be allowed until a satisfactory road for access to the property is built. MOTION: -lter; SECOND: Hawley; VOTE: Passed unanimously DIVISIONS OF LJUID: 1. Gulich. David E. (170-%y.) ? ? 'agr. Mark Thomas. Commissioner Alter, Chui.man cf Map Committee, stated that the Map is un satisfactory for consideration for approval. ACTION: That a Tentative Map of David R, Gulich property (160-60) 2 Iota be requiredl redrawn to a scale of one inch equals 50, showing the neighboring houses and effect the movement of the northeast boundary of the setback of the house on the property, and the status and condition of E1 Monte Avenue as as access. MOTION: Alter; SECOND: Hawley; VOTE: Passed unanimously 2. Kennedy. Vincent R. (171-60) 4 lots. Engr. Mastin & Kingston. The suggestion was made that the Kennedy map and the Fernand map be considered in conjunction with one another as they are adja- cent properties. Kennedy property has access from Duval Way and the Farrand prop- erty from Josefa Ave. The Map Committee recommended approval for both maps. During the discussion of road improvements, relative to the Kennedy property, it was the consensus of the Commission that Duval Way, although not constructed to Town Standards, would not have to be reconstucted. Relative to the portion of Josefa Ave. bounding Lot No. 1, it was determined that improvements should be as specifed by the City Engineer. :'.:-n.nedv RECOMMENDATION: That a new tentative map of the Vincent B. Kennedy property (171-60) be submitted, dividing the property into five (5) lots rather than four Iota; that at this time the improve- ments to Josefa _.venue be subject to the requirements of the City Engineer, plus the requirements indicated on the Check List. MOTION: '.iter; SECOND: Frentice; VOTE: Passed unanimously Farrand RECOMMENDATION: That the tentative map of Don Farrand (172-60) 2 lots be ap- proved, subject to the conditions of the Check List. MOTION: Alter; SECOND- Prentice; VOTE: Passed unanimously -3- 4W PRELIMINARY DISCUSSION: 1. Price. John (2 lots). Engr. Jczn Riley. Commissioner alter reported that the Map Committee had made an on site inspection of the property. The problem of creating an additional site to be served by the present private road (Edgecliff rlace) was discussed. The Com- mission was of the opinion that since the problem was pre- exist.;, ent to the incorporation of the Town, that if the map is drawn to proper scale, it could be considered for approval. New business: Eertz Reap - Deferred from Communications. Chairman Hibner gave a resume of past actions relative to Mr. Eertz' request for an extension of time for clearing the property of debris. RECOMMENDATION: That Mr. Rertz be written a strongly worded letter, indicating that his promises to complete the grading on his property have not been fulfilled, and that the site still remains an eye sore; that he be asked to complete this grading within thirty (30) days. MOTION: Hawley; SECOND: Prentice; VOTE: Passed unanimously IMOUNCE4ENTS: 1.
