MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION\
January 3, 1980
TO: File
FROM: City Engineer/Planner
Re: Lands of Palo Alto School District, PM. #4045-79, Preliminary Clap
On December 9, 1979, the Planning Commission met at the site of the subject
map to discuss the proposed 35 lot development as per the November 27, 1979
map. The following were present:
Planning Commissioner's:
Mary van Tamelen
Joseph Dochnahl
Michael Stewart
Michael Kuranoff
Richard Rydell
Arthur Lachenbruch
Developer: Robert E. Freeman, Senior Environmental Engineer, SRI International
Engineer Joe Szabo, Nowack 8 Associates
Staff John A. Carlson, City Engineer/Planner
THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS WERE MADE:
1. The number of lots appear excessive due to the constraints of the and,
vegetation, soils and vehicular access. A new map should be submitted with
a reduced number of lots.
2. The vehicular access at Story Hill Lane does not appear feasible due to excess
grading and removal of specimen trees.
3. Overall traffic circulation needs considerable study. If two accesses are
provided, two Cul-de-sac streets should be proposed.
4. The open space and conservation easements are insufficient. Heavily wooded
areas, drainage swales and ridges should be considered.
5. Several areas appear to have slides or creep and the development does not
appear to take these areas into account.
4w -b. Vehitcuu1.`lXlaarr access toCountry Way is questionable.
