HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/22/1981VARIANCE AND PERMIT COMMISSION y Town of Los Altos Hills 26379 Fremont Road Los Altos Hills, California MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING Wednesday, April 22, 1981 Reel 92, Side I, Tract II, 870-990 The meeting of the Variance and Permit Commission was called to order by Chairman Carico at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioners Carico, Rydell, Stewart Absent: None Also Present: City Engineer/Planner John A. Carlson; Assistant Planner Pat Webb; Secretary Leslie Penfold PUBLIC HEARINGS: 1. Lands of Brownrigg, File #VAR 1-81, 13090 Alta Tierra Road, Request for Recommendation of Approval for Variance for an addition. ( Ms. Webb referred to staff report dated April 17, 1981, noting that the re- bw quest is for a thirteen foot encroachment into side yard and three foot en- croachment into the front yard setbacks for an addition to the existing residence. Ms. Webb further noted that the residence was built prior to incorporation of the Town, and is an architectually unique structure. She further noted there have been no verbal or written objections to this re- quest and recommended approval of the variance, based on the six criteria for variances as outlined in her staff report dated April 17, 1981. The Public Hearing was then opened. Mr. Ron Freebarin-Smith, 300 Broadway, San Francisco, Architect, indicated that his firm did a great deal of research on this project, finding the best location for the addition, in relation to adjacent properties and the unique architecture of the existing residence. Ms. Linda Brownrigg, owner, noted she has lived in this house since 1959, and it being only a two bedroom, one bath house, it just wasn't large enough for her families needs. The Public Hearing was then closed. MOTION SECONDED AND PASSED UNANIMOUSLY: It was moved by Commissioner Stewart and seconded by Commissioner F,'dell to approve the variance for the Lands of Brownrigg, File #VAR 1-81, with criteria for granting of the variance as outlined in staff report dated April 17, 1981.
