HomeMy WebLinkAbout61-89 L � • • RESOLUTION NO. 61-89 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS INITIATING REORGANIZATION PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION AND ATTACHMENT OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS THE RIDGEVIEW ESTATES ANNEXATION DESCRIBED HEREIN, AND SETTING THE DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR CONSIDERATION OF SUCH REORGANIZATION_ RESOLVED, by the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills, County of Santa Clara, State of California, that WHEREAS, the Town of Los Altos Hills (herein called the "TOWN") desires to initiate proceedings pursuant to the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, Division 3, commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code for the annexation of certain territory to the TOWN and the annexation of same to the Purissima Hills Water District; and WHEREAS, this proposal includes an annexation to the TOWN located in the County of Santa Clara of unincorporated territory which is within the urban service area of the TOWN and is not subject to review by the Local Agency Formation Commission as provided under Section 56826 of the California Government Code; and WHEREAS, such territory is known by the short form designation of the RIDGEVIEW ESTATES ANNEXATION, and a description of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, and is subject to correction or revision as required; and WHEREAS, a map showing the location of such territory is attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and incorporated herein by this reference; and WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be reorganized is uninhabited, and all the owners of land within the territory have filed a written petition for the City Council to initiate said reorganization; and • • WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence of the TOWN; and WHEREAS, it is not desired to provide that the proposed reorganization be subject to any terms and conditions; and WHEREAS, the reason for the proposed reorganization is as follows: To allow new residential development in the Town limits, NOW, ARE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the TOWN OF LOS ALTOS HILLS hereby initiates proceedings for the proposed reorganization of the designated territory, and hereby sets June 7, 1989 at the hour of 7:15 p.m., in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California, as the date, time and place for consideration of such reorganization. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this City Council is hereby designated as the conducting authority for said proceedings, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a notice of hearing on the proposed reorganization to be given as prescribed or required by law. Stone's Subdivision of Lots 2 & 3 and part of Lot 7 & 8 of the Sanborn and ' Stone Partition in the San Antonio Rancho", which Map was filed for record in the Office of the Recorder of the County of Santa Clara, State of California on May 9, 1894, in Book H of Maps, at Pages 58 and 59, and more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the common corner for. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING PROPOSED REORGANIZATION PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION AND ATTACHMENT OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS THE RIDGEVIEW ESTATES ANNEXATION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills (herein called the "TOWN") which has initiated proceedings in the matter of a proposed Change of Organization of Territory, namely the Annexation to the Town of contiguous unincorporated uninhabited territory commonly known as and designated as RIDGEVIEW ESTATES ANNEXATION and for the annexation of same to the Purissima Hills Water District, will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, June 7, 1989, at the hour of 7:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California, to consider the proposed Reorganization which was initiated by all the owners of land within the territory having filed a written petition for the City Council to initiate the proposed reorganization. A legal description of the exterior boundaries of the subject property is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A". The only proposed change of organization which would result from this proposed Annexation would be the Annexation of unincorporated uninhabited territory within the County of Santa Clara to the Town and to the Purissima Hills Water District. There are no proposed terms or conditions for the proposed Annexation. The reasons for the proposed Annexation are summarized as follows: To allow new residential development in the Town limits. All interested persons are invited to be present and to be heard on the proposed Annexation at the respective time and place of the hearing.
