This project in its present siting and elevation severely impacts the view of our
neighbors. This is especially severe for us as we live right next door and it blocks our
bay view from our second floor windows. We are not against new projects but we think it
could be modified slightly to create a win-win situation for all of us. We have already
talked to the owners and their architect, RH Architects, about our concerns but have not
received any response as of to -day.
This lot is a sloped corner lot with the highest elevation close to the rear of the lot
sloping down gently to the front and side at the street level.A sensible and good design.
would be to follow the town guideline to situate the house following the slope. This would
also reduce earth moving and grading to minimize impact on the environment.
Instead, the project sit on top of the slope close to the end of the lot where the
elevation is the highest. This have many negative impacts on our neighbors.. One being the
loss of privacy in our backyards as the proposed house would be looking over to our
backyards. Another one would be the visual impact on the street level of large structure
on top of the slope stuck in the back of a lot.The most critical one for us would be the
loss of bay view due to the height and the location of this project.
Our family have been living here for many years. We raised our two daughters here, starting
from Bullis Elementry. Now they are grown up.
We love our town and our neighbors as we respect each others rights and at the same time
are careful not to intrude and degrade the quality of the lives of our neighbors. The
view of mountains and the.bay is a cherished and valuable asset of our town. Our town
residents enjoys open space with views and trees because our town shepherds take careful,
pragmatic and viable measures to enhance this. This is what differentiates us from the
neighboring towns. This is also why we have such a wonderful quality of life in our town.
As the project stand now, we think the height is excessively intrusive and we cannot agree
with the design for the reasons mentioned above. We would appreciate if you would take our
input into consideration.
I understand that the public hearing is on Oct.7, the coming Thursday.
We very much like to invite you to our house to show you our concerns before the public
hearing.
Please let us know if there is a time available for us to meet at our home.
Attached is a list of neighbors that have similar concerns. Thank you for your time.

The proposed project on 14300 Miranda Road creates impacts and obstructions
view. We believe the house should- be lowered in height, either by relocation or
architectural change.

Subject: Letter of Support for Makower Home Project- Oct. 7th Planning Commission Meeting
Importance: High
Dear Nicole -
As a Los Altos Hills Resident and someone who just completed a successful home project in the hills I am very
pleased to write a letter on behalf of Jen and Josh Makower. They are in the process of designing their dream
home for their family and hope to seek approval from the Planning Commission this evening.
I have known the Makower family for over 15 years and this project means a great deal to them: They are (as I
am for them) incredibly excited about their property because of the amazing views and for the opportunity to
provide more space for their three young children. I have witnessed the design process and tremendous
consideration they have made to ensure that they design a home that is within the design parameters for the
town. The neighbors including myself appreciate that they have tried keep into consideration the impact on the
neighborhood very seriously and ultimately want to add value to their property and surrounding homes.
As an experienced home builder I cannot speak more highly of how the Makower's have handled the initial stage
of design. They are collaborative, open to feedback and ultimately want to be great neighbors. I extend my full
support for this project and I do hope that the Planning Commission will do the same.
Best Regards -
