His previous email was in the packet as Attachment #7 of Item 3.1 for tomorrow night's meeting. Mr. Schaepe verbally requested that this email supersede his previous comments. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you. I am retracting this request as I would like to have them NOT plant trees that could grow to a height that will block the sun from hitting.my mature oak trees in my back yard (see photo attached) and therefore weaken/damage these irreplaceable mature oaks trees. 2) Since their house (particularly the 2nd story) will be visible from my house, I would like to see that they are limited to the 25 foot height restriction stated in the letter I received from the planning commission. 3) Given point 2 above, I would like to request that their roof is of an earthy medium to dark color (not black and not a light color) that will blend in to the background (low reflectivity index) and not draw attention to the eye as viewed from my property (24150 Hillview Road - LAH). This request also applies to the siding and siding color used on the house, particularly on the sides in their back yard that I can see (natural non glossy wood color/tone would be terrific or as close to that as possible). Pls email me if you have questions. Thank you. ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian Froelich<bfroelich@losaltoshills.ca.gov> To: Chris Schaepe Sent: Wed Oct 06 09:51:18 2010 Subject: FW: Dawnridge house view issue 1 Brian Froelich, AICP Associate Planner Los Altos Hills 650-947-2505 -----Original Message ----- From: Debbie Pedro Sent: Tuesday, September 21, 2010 11:38 AM To: Brian Froelich Subject: FW: Dawnridge house view issue -----Original Message ----- From: Chris Schaepe[mailto:cschaepe@lightspeedvp.com] Sent: Wednesday, July 28, 2010 11:40 AM To: Debbie Pedro Cc: Chris Schaepe; 'jchiu888@gmail.com' Subject: Dawnridge house view issue Debbie - I have attached a photo from right outside my kitchen eating area looking at our guest house where you can see the orange polls just beyond. It will be much worse in winter when the oak trees drop their leaves. We request heavy screening w dense redwood type trees that grow thick and tall and keep their leaves in winter. The view issue is w their 2nd floor as we can't likely see their first floor (can't see the existing structure from our house). Our address is 24150 Hillview Road - LAH. Pls email me if questions. ----- Original Message ----- From: Chris Schaepe To: Chris Schaepe Sent: Tue Jul 27 08:58:56 2010 Subject: HOUSE 1IMG00057-20100727-0858.jpg This message and its attachments are intended only for the addressee and may contain legally privileged and/or confidential information. We are the residents of 24151 Dawnridge Drive, the one directly next to the new construction site. We are currently abroad and not able to attend the hearing. Our concern is the privacy of our backyard pool /outdoor dining area which is right next to 24175 Dawnridge. The privacy in this area is very important to us. We are currently not able to see the existing house. With the second story to be built next to our property, our view could change. We would like to request heavy screen trees that grow thick and tall and have leaves in the winter between our houses. The trees have to be able to block the second story of the house from our house. 9 We would also like to request the second story of the new house does not have windows directly facing our pool/out door eating area. So we do not need to give up our privacy. Thank you very much for your consideration. Cathy and Don Williams 10/7/2010
