WITHIN THE CORPORATE: ,LIMITS:.OF"THE--TOWN' OF LOS ALTOS HILLS. - "
WHEREAS,. the Governing Board of•the Los Altos .School District ..
has appointed a-~site selection•committ.ee to consider and recommend a
site for a proposed•new administrative._.building, and
WHEREAS, -a primary site. under consideration.-by this•'commi_ttee is • .
• located within the corporate limits of •Los•Altos" Hills, and, : . '
`..WHEREAS,:.since, its.incorporationin 1956, the Town of ,LOS Altos :'
Hills has" comprized a single zone, -namely R-1, defined as•"Residential=
Agriculture,; and - . . ,
WHEREAS, - the permitted usesof properties within this, zone include '
- homes,: agricultural, schools• and churches,. but not :office buildings or .
' factories,. and• ' , •
:WHEREAS, the site is .riot centrally located with• respect to the . :
schools which itis- intended to. service, it would add unnecessarily to
costs of. operation and maintenance, and •would •detrac.t •.from the .rural. sur-
• ' : . roundings which` constitute.the- principal:attraction of th'e site, , and..
, . " WHEREAS, the.Town•of Los Altos Hills has far more than.=the normal :
proportion.-.of its, land area taken off the tax;rolls.:by:non-taxable uses, :,
and this excess amount ofland. off the tax rolls amounts to a 'subsidy .by• _
. : the. taxpayers of', Los Altos' Hills, .and ' . ` ' •

NOW, THEREFORE BE,IT RESOLVED" that the Town of 'Los Alto's:Hills
deems the, location of an administrative office -building,in' Los Altos• Hill s :
' • ' to •be contrary.to the•intent -of" the Ci:ty,Ordinances and contrary to•the- , _ . ' '
, best interests of the people :of Los, .Altos Hila and the School District,. -' , .
and .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that.the the use of this.'property for the .
• 'purpose proposed'.would be inappropriate in that, it would- cause excessive
- traffic. and noise, .is not :a-'central location'for administration, maintenance-,:, • '
